I deleted a document, now I want it back

I right-clicked on a document, and accidentally hit "delete". how do I get
the document back? it's not in the recycle bin, is there some kind of
recovery for accidentally deleted documents?

If you deleted it and it's not in your recycle bin then you're up a famous
creek without a paddle.
