Recycle Bin Slow Down

When I open or delete files WinXP will slow down until
the files are deleted or take a long time to open the
recycle bin.

It doesn't matter what what the file size is. 5KB to 5MB
it will slow down the computer when I try to do any thing
with the recycle bin.

I am having this problem on a new install and I had this
problem with my old computer as well.

Any solutions?

Hello : Maybe defrag the harddrive .... Total
