I have one file in my recycle bin of 1.3 mb, when I try to empty the bin it
jsut goes on forever deleting the file, I have tried disc clean up from disc
tools and that doesnt work either, have scaned the file with anti virus and
no virus found ?? any body have a clue ?

Thanks for the help but I have tried that but the file still remains ?
System restore does not alter files

Have you tried something like CCleaner? It could be that it is caught up in
cache or something. Is it still there after a restart? If so have you
tried Safe Mode could be that the application is still being used in Normal
Mode.

Hi, I have tried it in safe mode but still win't delete, I have tried
cleaning c drive with the windows clean up that didn't work. I am not
familiar with C cleaner I guess that is a program, I will have a look for it

Right click on the file and select delete. If that doesn't work,
go into explorer, and check the perms on the directory.
And the file itself. Give you as admin full control over the
file.

Then delete it from explorer.

Then, empty the recycle bin.

Hi again, have downloaded and tried C cleaner this deletes all the files and
then hangs leaving the recycle bin intact - thanks for trying

If it cant be deleted from Safe Mode then giving permissions for the
file/folder wont do anything. Since Safe Mode already runs in Admin Mode.
At this point it seems you have a stuck file.

From here go into Safe Mode again. Click the Start Orb>Organize>Folder
Options>View Tab. Here you want to show hidden files and uncheck the box to
show hidden system files. It will say that it is recommended to have these
on but for this you need them off. Now go into your C:\ drive. You should
see a file called Recycler in there. You should be able to access this file
and delete all the files that are "stuck". then just put the hidden files
back on and restart. See if that does anything.

Thanks for your patience, I put my PC in safe mode - found the recycler
folder & there is actually 3 recycle bins inside all with the troublesome
file, tried to delete it in every way but again "calculating time remaining "
and just goes on & on .
