Recycle Bin does not appear

I had to deinstall NAV 2002 Pro by manually removing
registry keys and in the process screwed up my recycle bin.

Can I get my Recycle Bin back and fully functional? If I
can, how do I do it. WinXP has what appears to be a
Recycle Bin ID that can be added to the
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Desktop/Name
Space that will restore the Recycle Bin.

The WinXP ID does not work with Win2k.

Is there a Win2k specific ID that can be added to restore
the Recycle Bin?

Thanks.

Thanks Pegasus. That added the icon back to the desktop.

However, two issues with the icon...
1) Although, I named the Value Data 'Recycle Bin', the
text didn't appear under the icon.

2) When I right click on the icon the only options
available are 'Cut', 'Create Shortcut', and 'Delete' in
that order.

All of those choices specifically refer to the icon and
not the contents of the icon. When I double click on the
icon, nothing happens.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Wayne

Check out this key:

Pegasus,

Thanks for the help.

The whole HKLM\Software\CLASSES\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-
9F08-00AA002F954E} key was missing...all 6 sublevels.
However, I have a 'clean' Win2k Pro box here as well and
you gave me the idea to export the {645FF040-5081-101B-
9F08-00AA002F954E} key from the clean PC and import it
into this one.

It worked. All is well.

Thanks again for your help,
Wayne

Glad I could help you, even though my supervisor fails
to be impressed with your suggestion about a pay rise.
I am my own boss . . .

BTW - Your support was excellent.

You gave me the right kind of information I needed and set
me on the right course.

I couldn't deinstall NAV 2002 Pro and, consequently, the
2003 upgrade wouldn't install.

Symantec's tech support sucks.

Their support on their product was pitiful. After two +
days of emails I took matters into my own hands and
deleted the associated reg keys, icons, and program files
so that NAV 2003 would install.

Although that approach worked for NAV 2003, I also screwed
up the recycle bin.

But, now - all is well thanks to you. Tell you supervisor
that you deserve a raise.

Thanks again,
Wayne

Try this one:
