Recycle Bin- A little help

My Windows XP recently had to go under a recovery and now most things are
back in order but the recycle bin seems to have some problems. Every time I
delete something, the it asks if I really want to delete it, and then just
permenately deletes it. I have already checked the properties and it doesn't
say to delete it after I put something in the recycle bin so I have no idea
what to do...^^;;
