Recovery of Word Doc to previous version

A colleague inadvertantly overwrote and saved to an
important word document. Is there any way, short of using
system recovery, to recover the previous version of the
file?

Saving versions is a major cause of file bloat and corruption. The option
you want is "Automatically create backup copy" on the Save tab of Tools |
