Recovery of unsaved files

Does anyone know how to recover a file that I created in
excel but never saved? I created a spread sheet but never
saved or named the spreadsheet, then closed excel
accidently. I tried going to where is says it auto saved
but because I didn't ever save or name the file it can't
find it even in the temp file. There must be a way to
recover--help please

It it truly has never been saved, you are out of luck. It would have only
existed in memory, which was discarded when you quit Excel. Sorry.

.
It was saved to some degree since I had auto recovery
on. I tried to find the temp file but it wasn't there. It
must still be in cache or temp somewhere no??

I could be wrong, but I don't think AutoSave will make up a filename. So,
if you've not provided one, I can't see that AutoSave makes any difference
here.

It is possible, I suppose that some version of your spreadsheet is in a temp
file. Grab any *.tmp files that appear contemporaneous -- perhaps they're
actually *.xls files. I don't put a lot of confidence in this approach, but
see no alternative.

Check your windows temp folder, it may be there.
