Recovery of Corrupt Zip File

P

PeeJay

I have a corrupt LARGE zip file (107mb).

I have tried the free "ZipRepair" by "CrocWare" but it could not
recover anything.

I then tried "Advanced Zip Repair" (yeah, I know, shareware but
anything is worth a try) and it told me that the files in the zip
could be recovered but it will only fix files less than 3mb :-(

Can anyone recommend a free program that will do a better job than
"ZipRepair"?

Thanks in advance for any info.

PKWare for DOS comes with PKZIPFIX and that's about the best utility I
found for fixing ZIP archives.

Maybe PowerArchiver can do the job? Freeware versions are still
available here:

Zip Snake 1.0 (2.78 MB d/l)

Have a lot of ZIP files on your hard drive? Need a file that you know is in

one of those ZIP files, but you're not quite sure which one? That's where
ZIP Snake comes in...ZIP Snake will allow you to search anywhere on your
hard drive within ZIP files, in a given folder, subfolders, or even the
entire drive. ZIP Snake will recursively search through all found ZIP files

and return files within those ZIP files that match your search criteria

I have not checked the d/l link. I had the program stashed on CD.

(Find it at the bottom of the page)

Just used it myself to search for *.jpg files in a 750mg Zip - which it did

in a matter of seconds.
Says it can repair and if it can't repair, the help file will explain why.

Thanks for the info - I will try it

Unfortunately your link to ZipSnake did not work but I googled it and
found it here for others who may want it:
