Recovering product key

Allied

Hello all,

I'm trying to recover my product key from an installation of Windows 2000
Professional so that I can reinstall it. The Microsoft COA was on the top of
the machine(it's a Compaq Desktop), and it's been worn away so that it's
unreadable.

How can I get the key out of the running Windows 2000?

Thanks,
Allied

Awesome, that thing works perfectly. Thanks Dave!

Only I think I've just wiped that hard drive by mistake. :-(.

lol, Well in this case - I thought I *tried* to install 2000 to the wrong
hard drive, and told it to wipe it. Thankfully it was the right hard drive.
:)

So all is well and I'm finishing up the install.

I noticed. My news server was chillin' out that day so I wasn't
receiving new posts for hours. Anyway, glad you're sorted out.

I see, appreciate it anyways :). I like your "forumlated", "pretended",
etc. It's humorous.
