Following corruption to my boot disk by Norton GoBak (don't even go there!)
I'm going to try and recover my outlook and other data from the disk using
Ontracks Easy Rovery Pro. I've used this software before and it has proved
very sucsseful.

However, I'm not certain of the name and location of outlook data relating
to a specific user account (mine!). If I locate and recover the data file(s)
can I import it/them in to my new outlook installation? I've imported pst
files bfore, but never raw (so to speak) outlook data.

All help REALY appreciated.

All of your data should be in a .PST file (possibly more than one if you were
using more than one set of personal folders, for example, an archive file),
and you would want to open it in Outlook using File | Open, not import from
it.

I can locate and recover my outlook.pst file but it only contains
email. Where would the calendar, tasks etc data be?

again
TIA

Doh .... I was but just not showing folders in folder list (embarrsed!).
Nearly there now thanks for all you help guys much appreciated.

Small nigle . when I now create a new email and go to chose a 'to' I get an
error message says "The address list cannot be displayed. The conntacts
folder associated with thsi address list could not be opend ......".
ALTHOUGH I can open the addresses from directly from the contacts folder.
How can I resolve this.

Again thanks for you paitence guys!

All are in the same place. You are not "recovering" the correct PST file.
Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

You forgot to configure the Outlook Address Book in this installation:

Hi,

the way you recovered the file might corrup it. Some restore utilities
really spoil restored files. the one I've figured out never fails or
corrup data is Undelete, I've been using it for a while and yet it did
not failed.
