Recovering Lost Files Please Help

I was trying to save my graphics that I had made onto a CD and I got a error
saying that the folder couldn't be moved. So I clicked retry to retry and
move the files again and they disappeared. Is there anyway to recover them?

Stop using the computer until you've tried data recovery methods. Here are
some utilities for file recovery to try. I don't know if one of these will
recover the file. Next time make sure you copy, not move. If the copy is
successful then delete from the source if that's what you want.

So the files weren't written to the CD?
