Recovering files

I had a drive full of data go to a blue screen for about 2 hours while it
wrote "recovering file in file xxxxxxx".

Is this an accurate recovery of my files? I can't seem to find anything
different but it kept saying something about errors and having to recover
files.

if everything turned out ok, then i wouldn't put to much thought into it.
Apparently, you could have lost everything on the hard drive. It may have be
an indication of a failing hd, failing motherboard, maybe a disk virus,
failing partition table, etc.....

However, this may be a good time to ensure that you will be able to recover
your files, yourself; as you may not be so lucky the next time. Start making
backups or copies of your personal files......

It said "recovering orphaned files". What could that mean?
BTW, it seems the data came out ok.
