Recovering deleted part of document

I deleted / pasted 7 pages of info from one file to a new document, and
saved. I then renamed the document. Somehow, the 7 pages are gone - the new
document is empty.

Is there a way of recovering this info? I know there is usually a last
saved section somewhere on the computer, but have no idea where. I can see a
transparant file name beginning ~! but cannot recover it (it is corrupt).

If you are certain the document you believe you have saved is empty then the
data is gone.The lock file related to the document is not a copy of the
document and cannot be opened in Word.
