Recovering Deleted Contacts

Someone inadvertently (hard) deleted all of my contacts from my address book.
Yet when I type an address in a new email message, Outlook auto-completes the
address with the supposedly-deleted information, leading me to believe there
is a cache somewhere with all of my email addresses. Is this a general
auto-complete function, or is it specific to Outlook email addresses? Is
there any way to recover the email addresses?

There is a cache, but it doesn't necessarily contain your contacts (although
some of what it contains are undoubtably based on your contacts). It
contains the last 1,000 addresses to which you've sent mail.

It's specific to Outlook, but the cache contains up to the last 1,000
addresses to which you sent mail, be they contacts or just Internet address.

With a third party tool you can add the cached names to your Contacts
folder. See the Owtlook product at http://www.dcs-imaging.com/ .
