recover permanently deleted folder

I had permanently deleted(Shift+Delete) a subfolder from the microsoft
outlook inbox by mistake.I have tried the alternative way (recover
permanently deleted files) but the mails in that respective folder cannot be
retrieved.Are they permanently lost??????

Version:Microsoft Outlook 2003
