Recover of an overwrited file in NTFS

Hello,

On a Windows XP Professional with SP2 and in NTFS, i have the
following problem:

At the installation of Outlook 2003, I have by mistake overwrited my
Outlook.pst file.
All my mails of the last 6 years, which was on my backup disk and
2.5GB large, i have overwrited with a "blanc" pst file, created by
Outlook and with a size of +/- 8MB.

In the meantime I have on this backupdrive D:\ nothing modified.
In fact, i have overwritten my "mail" pst file of 2.5Gb by a "blanc =
empty" pst SMALER file of 8Mb, because they have the same name =
outlook.pst.

Is there a tool to recover my mails, or a part of them.

Not if you've overwritten the file.

You may not have overwritten the actual disk area.

You can try:

or other utilities mentioned on this newsgroup.

But the more activity you perform on that computer, the less chance of
recovery. Stop what you are doing now and download needed utilities on
another PC, transfer with USB flash drive if you can.
