Is there a way recover a file on the server that was
deleted from a workstation. The file doesn't show on
both Recycle Bins. Thanks for the help.

If you delete a file on the network server from a workstation it is
gone.(possibly drivesavers.com can bring it back for fee)
What you need to do is bring it back from the backup. You do backup the
server every night don't you? If not, its a lessen learned.(get a backup
running nightly as soon as possible with either removable ide drives or tape
drives and store the backup media in a fireproof safe)

Erm...there are a number of utilities available that can recover files
as described by the OP. Do a Google search for "undelete" and you'll
see several, ranging in price from free to a few bucks.

To solve the "deleted across the network" problem, there are utilities
that can capture such deletions. See www.undelete.com for more info.

While I agree with your general suggestions about backups, nightly
backup tapes do you no good when recovering a file that was created
today and accidentally deleted today.

I hope this helps -
