recording parts of radio programmes

Am I right in assuming the windows vista home premium (32 bit) can't
record aspects of radio programmes.

If so, can someone recommend a good free facility.

Thanks

Your assumption may be incorrect. Open Vista's SOUND RECORDER.

Right-click the speaker icon (right-bottom of window).
Under PROPERTIES|RECORDING choose "What you hear" as the input.

This may vary, dependent upon your sound card.

Hi Dev

I don't have 'what you hear' as an option

I have mic, Rear Mic, and Line In. Only mic is available?

Realtek audio adapters call it "Stereo Mix" (What You Hear is for Creative Audio
Adapters.)

(Also make sure you right click the Recording Devices window and check both Show
Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices.)
