Recording Macro, toggle absolute/relative reference, button disapp

If you want to change between relative and absolute cell reference when
recording a macro, a button should appear for "Stop recording" and "toggle
reference"

However this has only appeared once on both of my computers (Office 2003 on
XP and Office 97 on Windows 98), even after rebooting I cannot persuade this
button to re-appear!

Help please?

that is because you closed the toolbar manually.

To get it back, Start recording a macro

then right click on the main toolbar and put a check mark next to the stop
recording toolbar.

Now click the stop button and it should go away. When you start recording,
it will reappear. (you can throw away the recorded code).

Resist the urge to click the little x on the upper right of the toolbar - or
if you can't, use the steps above to get it back.

Hi Kayos,

Tools, macro, record a macro
reply to dialog box
View, toolbars, click on stop recording

additional information:
You lost the button by hitting the [x] in upper right corner
and had to use the tools, macro, stop recording in the meantime.
