recording form DV device bad quality

i have porblem when I record from my dv camera with
firewire to moviemaker, it looks like moviemaker misses
frames some time.

I do record it on higest resulution and framerate.

annyone have the same? and how to solve promblem?
I do have a fast PC so that shall not be the problem.

Dropped frames during capture are usually due to hard drive performance...
tuning it up by freeing up space and defragging might resolve it.

If not, try capturing with the WinDV utility... there's a link on the
Digital Camcorders > Intro page of www.papajohn.org
