Record lock settings

J

John J.

I have a split 2003 database with 5 users and this number soon will increase
to 20. I want to make sure my database and record lock settings are good,
but somehow the help file doesn't make it very clear to me what I should
choose.

Right now:
- the standard record locking is set to: "Edited record"
- the "Open databases with record lock" checkbox is set to True

As I understand these are personal Access settings for the users. Should I
have code in my frontend that makes sure the users have theses right
settings?

Is there a rule of thumb for these settings? I'm happy to get some advice on
this matter.

Thank you,
John

Unless you have a real need don't touch the settings. I never have.
