record is deleted

I have a database where someone has deleted a record and now I can't run any
queries off the database. Everytime I attempt to run a query or even try and
open the table where the deleted record is it gives an error "Record is
deleted". PLease help my job depends on this.

Backup the database then try the menu TOOLS - Database Utilities - Compact
and Repair Database.
