Record counting and percentages

I've got a table that has a listing of all equipment I've got on inventory.
One of the fields is M/D (which has a combo box to select a manufacturer). I
want to create a report that gives a total number of each manufacturer (ex:
Dell - 20, Gateway - 14, Compaq - 25, etc) and also what percentage of the
total records it is. Would someone please help me out with this.

FYI: I'm running Access 2003.
 
Have you done a search? This is a very very common issue.

Read the previous posts on the topic "total" or "sum" and "percentage" or
"percentage of entire..."
 
Rick, I apparently can't figure out the DSum function and how to add
criteria. Can this be done in a report or does it have to be done in a
query? Please Help!
