Record at normal speed,playback 2 X Speed

This sounds like a simple thing that I am overlooking but I still havent
found the answer..

I am using a Sony Digital HandyCam out the DV, to an IEEE 1394.
When it is capturing the video, (and I have tried it on several different
settings it appears to be playing running at normal speed...
However, when the captured video is played back (in Windows media Player)
it is coming back out in 2 X s speed, which makes it impossible to burn to
disk.

What Am I missing?

What version of media player do you have? After I upgraded to SP2, I could
only play my clips ONCE at normal speed. Each time after that it would play
at half of normal speed. I'd have to restart my PC to get it to normal for
another one time only. Upgrading to media player 10 was the answer for me. I
am using Sony TRV-460.

No I dont think that is it as I tried to install the 10 off the website, and
it said I already had a version of the software on the machine that was more
current.
My clips NEVER play at the correct speed and only play at the accelerated
rate (about 2 X) Do you, or anyone else have any suggestions?
