recommended RAM for ASUS A7V8X-X?

BUGS

I'm having a problem with an AGP card. Basically, my system runs well
with a PCI card. I did a memory test with memtest86 and Windows Memory
Diagnostic. With the PCI card, both programs detected no problems.
When an AGP card is installed, the memory test fails.

Also, with the AGP card installed, the system will not boot at all.
Can't boot off a CD either.

Apparently this is a problem with the memory. I do not know the brand
name of the memory that I'm using but it says "elixir" on the memory
modules. I assume it's a generic memory brand. The seller of this
systgem is out of business so no way to contact them.

What memory should I have in this system? Like I said, it runs fine
with a PCI card installed. The AGP card I'm using has been tested in
another system and it worked fine.

I may be wrong on this but that acutaly sounds more like a problem with power.
Is the AGP card a high power (recent highend card) model? have you tried it
with a different known good AGP card? What kind of Powersupply are you running?

Hi

I have seen all kinds of wierd probs with no explaination, so heres my
suggestion, boot with only the HDD and video card, no other pci cards,
see if it boots. Start adding back the cards and see what happens.
