I wanted to hear recommendations on which video board people would
suggest. I am currently running an Asus 7100 Deluxe Combo (Geforce 2
MX) video board which has a tv tuner on the card. The motherboard is
an Asus A7M266 running a 1.4 GHz T-Bird cpu.
The local Comp-USA had a President's Day sale and offered an ATI All
In Wonder 9600 video card for $129 after a $30 mail-in rebate. It runs
about $137 after taxes. I saw Newegg had an ATI All In Wonder 9600 XT
for $189 and free S/H yesterday, but the sale was over when I looked
today. It's $215 + $4.99 S/H today.
I was going to ask if the 9600 XT was a large improvement over the
9600 fot the 50$ difference, but it's a larger difference now.
I am not a big gamer, but would like the option to play some. Is the
ATI 9600 a good deal better than the current Geforce2 MX I am running
now? The whole system isn't state of the art, so I am unsure what sort
of video upgrade is worthwhile.
