recommend a case and psu in UK

In the last 6 months i've upgraded:
motherboard to asus a7n8x-e
g/card to 9800SE AIW
Have 2 160Gb SATA disks
A DVD writer

Decided the PSU and case will not cope for much longer. Can anyone recommend
a value case which preferbaly has audio, usb and firewrie on front and will
run all of the above.

Notre i'm not bothered about flashing neon lights, whether it can make
tea/coffee but will condider if the price is right.

Regards

Aria do a value range with a 420W PSU for £21.50+ VAT. Has two USB, two
firewire plus MIC and Headphone at the base of the front under a flap.

Hi Steve,

Not sure whether you mean 'cheap' or 'bang for buck' by the word 'value' but
take a look at www.overclockers.co.uk I bought a case around 4 months ago
from them. I went for the Antec 1080AMG purely because it had a lot of
room, good ventilation, quiet, but most of all, came with a 430W Antec
TruePower PSU included in the price of £91 (inc VAT). There are of course
cheaper cases but bear in mind that the 430W TruePower sells separately on
the same site for £65.80 (inc VAT) so that makes the case a bargain. This
case also has USB and firewire ports on the front but no audio. If that is
a definite requirement then more browsing is needed.

HTH, Shaun.

Hello Steve,

Please pardon me for not being able to anwer your
question. I do have a question about AUDIO on front panel in your PC.

When you have your PC case with AUDIO connectors on front panel,
do you also have your Stereo Speakers connected to the Speaker Out
connectors on the rear panel of your case? Is your mobo setup
so you can operate your Stereo Speakers [rear connectors] and use your
front panel AUDIO at the same time?

I know my INTEL D865PERLK mobo either sends AUDIO to the
front AUDIO connectors or to the read AUDIO connectors.

I am curious if the ASUS mobo is set up to allow audio at front and
back at same time. Or, do you have to make special Y splitters
and special cables?

Thank you for any info.
I hope you fine a good case and power supply.

I'm not familiar with Aria, and I won't comment on their products, but
the PSU is the single item you should never go cheap on. I, personally,
wouldn't trust my system to anything other than nice Antec or Cooler
Master power supply.

A budget PSU can cause all sorts of problems, and often lead system
builders to replace many components unnecessarily, hunting down the
culprit to their system woes. You'll find that a quality 300W PSU from a
company like Antec actually puts out more power than a 500W from a
budget manufacturer. Do yourself a favor and spend a reasonable amount
of money and get a good quality PSU.

I personally recommend Antec. You can get a solid Antec SmartPower 350W
PSU (SL350) for a reasonable price. In the US, it can be picked up
online for $50. Step down to a 300W for $11 less, US. They also sell
European, and UK versions too, so you can find them in your country.

Might as well get it in a SLK1650 case for $60 delivered or in a SLK3700
case for $70 delivered. See pricegrabber.com, techonweb.com, etc.
