Recomended DVD Burners for SATA or SAS and Lightscribe

I'm currently building a PC, but I don't really want to use the legacy IDE
interface. It works, but that darn'd cable is huge.

Does anyone have experience / recomendations for an SATA / SAS / USB based
DVD burner (18x or better) that works with Vista and provides lightscribe
capability?

Thoughts please.

And the fact that the darned cable allows you to have a working
burner, is bad in what way ? Some of the newer fangled tech
is more of a pain to get working, than it should be.

If you are short of PATA ports, then I'd go looking for an
alternative. But if you want something that "just works",
that ribbon cable is the lowest risk solution. (Use a cable
with 80 wires, for best results. I.e. The cable with the
thinner wires.)

It's the phrase 'legacy IDE' that gets me though. People talk about it like
it was around in biblical times. I'm sure it will be around a while longer
yet.

Reminds me of the description of the keyboard/mouse ports on the first
box that I worked on that had PS/2 ports vice the big AT keyboard DIN
connector and serial mouse port: "Legacy keyboard/mouse ports." Hunh? At
the time I don't that that USB was even available on consumer machines
but the BIOS manufacturers clearly already had the word.
