SATA hard disk & 2 DVD drives - separate IDE connectors for DVD's?

I'm building a new computer with an SATA hard disk for the operating
system. My only IDE devices are a DVD burner and a DVD ROM.

I think it would be best to put one DVD drive on each IDE port, each
with it's own 80-wire cable. It would add clutter inside the computer
though, and I don't yet have a second 80-wire cable.

Both computer ports support Ultra DMA. Any thoughts on speed
difference using one or both ports for my DVD drives? I assume it
wouldn't matter for single-DVD drive use but that it might if I'm
copying a DVD from the ROM to the burner.

Thanks!

The short story is that you wouldnt be able to
pick it in a proper double blind trial so its a wank.

Dont bother.

See above.

Nope, basically because the software used to do the copying
wont actually use both drive simultaneously and the speed of
the operation will be entirely determined by the burn speed,
it wont be affected by the other drive being on the same cable.
