Recipients did not receive embedded graphic

I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange.

I recently received a message with an embedded graphic which I forwarded to
a number of recipients within my domain. They all received the message with
the graphic intact.

I then forwarded the same message to a number of recipients outside my
domain. Only one recipient received the graphic, a user who is also using
Outlook 2003 with Exchange. The other users, mostly using Outlook Express or
Eudora received the message, could see the text, but did not see the
graphic, although the size of the message was such as to confirm that the
graphic was actually present.

Can anyone explain this for me? TIA.

The most likely cause is that you sent the message in Rich Text format,
which only Outlook can read properly. Non-Outlook clients, like Outlook
Express, can see text portions, but not attachments. I'm surprised,
however, that the Eudora users couldn't see them because I've read that
Eudora supports Rich Text format.
