while trying to check my email on outlook using optonline i get the error
message:

task'mail.optonline.net recieving' reported error 0x80040900 The server name
you entered cannot be found on the network. Please verify that you are online
and that the server name is correct.

I get this error for my accounts on optonline and on gmail. I am online,
obviously, and the server name is right.

What can i do?

Well, it's not spelled right and that could be the problem. Receiving is
spelled wrong. I before e, except after c.....etc. Seriously, if it is
spelled right in the settings, you should check with optonline for exact
server settings. I doubt that "receiving" is part of the server setting at
all. Here's what I found: OPTOnline Internet Service server setting:
mail.optonline.net

Here are the settings: Type in your incoming POP3 server name:
mail.optonline.net
Type in your outgoing SMTP server name: mail.optonline.net
Optonline support has more info.
