This past week I had some Microsoft security updates install. It seems one
of the updates was actually some MS app that tracks the authenticity of
software. Ever since this install took place I have had some erratic
behavior with my PC. Adobe can't find my installed printers, Outlook can't
open Word are two examples. Does someone know how I might go about removing
this update/app?

Download, install and run MalwareBytes.

WGA Notifications tool (KB905474) is not a security update nor is its
install likely to have caused this behavior.
