recent update messed with wordpad

winXP SP3

Todays update screwed with my WordPad. Everytime I
opened a doc file, I would see all the hidden code and
markups. When I tried to save a .doc file, I would get
an error -- an error has occurred and unable to save.
If I saved it as .rtf [or any other] then its fine. I
used system restore and went back to yesterday and
everything is fine again.

Anyone know which of these updates would cause this
problem?:

its the "Security Update for Windows XP (KB973904)"
that is causing the problem. Where would I report this?
