RECENT FILES LISTING

In Word, whenever I click "open file," I get a very long list of "recent"
files. I do not get the default folder which I told Word to give me as the
first folder I consult after opening the program "Word". Even my macros,
which I created to take me to a specific folder, don't work most times so
that whenever I click the "open file" icon in Word, I get this long list of
"recent" files instead of the default folder or any folder invoked by a
macro. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this recent file list when I
open Word and try to retrieve a document?

You will get a faster answer by posting this question in one of the MS Word
newsgroups. Make sure that you include the version of MS Word that you are
using.
