I send ("assign") tasks daily to my boss; we both use Outook 2003. As of
this morning, our tasks come through like plain text with two attachments:
the first is a .txt file that when opened shows the task details (in plain
text) and the second is an "untitled" .dat file. Any ideas as to why this
all of the sudden started happening? And even more important, any "fix"
suggestions? Thank you so much!

This seems to be a known issue, and I am also experienceing it.

One post referenced an MS hot-fix that was not publically available as of
12-7-2007 but could be gotten from Microsoft via e-mail.

Much of the disucsion has centered around uninstalling MS Office patches
circa January 2006. However, I looked for the referenced patches in
ad/remove programs, and it appers they have been rolled-up into more recent
fixes, so it's not obvious what the offending patches are.

No answer -- just a summary of my research.

Thank you, Jonathan. I appreciate your sharing. It is at least good to know
that we're not alone in this issue. Our very good computer guru -- who can
normally fix anything -- hasn't been able to come up with a fix either.
Thanks again!
