Receiving "object not valid" in Outlook 2000

I'm trying to forward several previously received e-mails as attachments in
the body of another e-mail and am getting an "object not valid" dialogue box.
I'm using Outlook 2000 in Windows Vista OS. Worked fine a couple of days
ago and now not working. Any ideas?

I have one: don't use Outlook 2000 on Vista. It's documented as being
incompatible.
