Reccomendations for External Hard Drive

Would buying an external case, and adding a drive be a better choice than
purchasing a drive and enclosure already built? I see many prebuilds have
fans, some don't.

Recently purchased an `ICY BOX` (USB and Firewire options), and put in a
200gig drive. Runs nice`n`cool. Doesn`t need a fan (one thing less to go
wrong <g>). High speed part\format in winXP. Recommended. best wishes..j
