I just had my upgraded and I think I have a problem with rebooting. I have
been reinstalling my software, but at the oddest time the system will reboot.
At first I thought I click the wrong button, but tonight when I was on the
internet watching a show from a website, it rebooted without me doing
anything. Can anyone help. I am running and duo2 with 2 HDs, 1 40G, 1 200G
and external 500g, 2G memory with XP pro. I had some problems before the
upgrade of "blue screen" in which I had a USB conflict. Could the rebooting
be a symptom of a conflict?

Thanks for any assistance.

Try this. What happens? Do you get a Stop Error message you can post?

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have
resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during Start-Up and select
option - Disable automatic restart on system failure.

If you are using a wireless keyboard and the F8 key does not work
substitute a wired keyboard and mouse for this exercise only.

What is your Windows XP CD as it is described on the face of the CD?

My XP CD is an Upgrade. There was not Stop Error Message, the system just
rebooted. I will try what you suggest so that I might see the Stop Error
Messages and try to resolve the problem.

Thanks for your help

Have you backed up important data files as the problem can quickly
escalate to a non-booting situation.

An alternative is to look at Error and Warning reports in Event Viewer.

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in
the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the last boot. No
Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in
a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Can you please give more detail about your "upgrade"?

I did what was suggested and I got the blue screen with the following error
message:

STOP 0x00000024 (0x001902FE, 0XB6A1C060, 0xB6A1Bd5C, 0XF7B7A64A)
then this is also on the blue screen:

NTFS.sys - Address F7B7A64A base at F7B52000, Date Stamp 4614FBF1

I know that some of that is addresses but what does it all mean and how can
I stop it!

Thanks
