Rebooting occurs when I'm on Internet

I had a problem that is even baffling Microsoft technicians. Since
yesterday morning, whenever I'm on the Internet, my computer screen goes
black, and the computer reboots. There is no warning. It can happen at
any time---five minutes after I log on or half an hour. There doesn't
seem to be any pattern. Can anyone please give me some idea of what is
causing this?

Just to state the obvious, are you running a current firewall? At one
point, I was literally watching (some kid obviously) take control of my
computer at will.

I have a firewall and I'm using Mozilla 1.6, but this also happens when
I used Internet Explorer, so it isn't a browser problem.

Go into "System Properties" (press windows key and pause at same
time) click on the Advanced Tab. Under Startup and Recovery, press
the Settings button. Under System Failure, make sure the box that
says Automatically Restart is NOT checked off. OK your way out and
reboot the machine.

Now whenever the error occurs while you're on the internet, it should
give you an error report (blue screen) instead of rebooting. Copy the
error report to a post here and someone may be able to help you figure
out what's wrong.

I don't see where in the thread you specified your Internet connection
(dialup w/modem, broadband w/network card), but the random character of
the failure may mean you have a hardware issue rather than software.
Check all cables going to the Internet connection, swap out the modem
or nic. If everything is good on your end (and you'll need to swap out
hardware to be sure), then check with your ISP if you are using a
cable/dsl modem and it belongs to them.
