rebooting -hangup

When I reboot XP it will display the Windows XP screen with the blue flashing
cursor but will go no further. Interestingly, if I reinstall xp from the
disk, I can successfully reboot about 3-5 times without problems, but then it
will hangup on the above described screen.
I can boot into safe mode without problem, but I'm not able to successfully
correct the problem.

Random faults are generally hardware faults. Take for service.
