i need to reboot but i cant find the critical updates i downloaded in order to copy them
are they on my xp somewhere or am i just being dopey again

Hi, Do you mean you wish to "reinstall" Windows and you want to copy the
critical updates you have already downloaded and installed? If so, no. You
will have to re-download all the updates. They can't be copied over from
machine they have already been installed on.
