Have been using a HD as secondary on computer with no problems. Got a new
Computer and using the old main HD as secondary on new one. Have a slip
streamed xp Pro sp2 cd. Trying to do a clean install on the HD I was using
as secondary. Formatted for NTFS. Copies all the files, etc. then the
....will reboot in 14 seconds... goes thru that, but momentarily get the
"press any key to boot from CD", then goes to:

Couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
NTLDR: Couldn't open drive........... (same as above)

What is causing this?

Sorry to be so long in reply. Thanks for suggestion. That didn't work
either. Any other suggestions?

Seems that HAL mismatched and somewhere broke ,cause you put HD from another
PC which has diferent hardware
i think command should be FIXMBR and not FIXBOOT
try that!

Using the MAP ARC command in the Recovery Console should shed some
light on the problem. Your boot.ini rdisk value is probably wrong.

Well, finally got it going. Ended up being the jumper on the HD. It wasn't
there and I and everyone else assumed it would default to master or cable
select... Wrong. Put the jumper on the master pins and it worked fine.
Thanks for all your efforts.

Thanks for the follow up, it helps everybody when posters tell us how
they fixed the problem.
