reboot error...ntoskrnl.exe

Brad

When I try and reboot, I get an error message that says
that the following file is missing or corrupt:<windows
2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

It tells me to re-install a copy of the above file, but I
don't know how to do that. Can someone explain to me in
laymans terms how this is done. Do I need to reboot from
the 2000 cd and go through the prompts for repair?

Much appreciated
Brad

Yes, this is what you have to do.

What is yourfile system?

IF Fat32, get the file from a working PC or the cdrom
stick it on a bootable floppy or cdrom and then copy the
file to the location.

NTFS

You will need a universal boot disk which will allow you
to copy the file over to the folder.
