Does anybody know whether it is possible to update the free Windows
Media Player without disturbing the installation of Real Alternative?

Thank you.

Do you mean "media player classic" (great non-m$ player)
or "media player 6.4" (old m$ player)?

You can update "media player classic" without a prob: in the free world
codecs don't get effected when updating a media player (aren't we lucky
:)

Yes.

If you are referring to Windows Media Player, go ahead.

If you are referring to Media Player Classic, give it a try - but understand
that
some folks have tried version xxxx.8, and returned to xxxx.5.

Thank you Jay, and apologies: I did mean Media Player Classic.
Since I installed as part of Real Alternative, I wasn't sure I could
update it independently of Real Alternative.
