Real Estate Customizing

I'm hoping to find some information or a forum that can help me answer some
how to questions in business contact manager. I'm new to contact managers in
general and I have some ideas about what I would like to do. But I don't know
if its possible and if so, where to start.
1- I would like to be able to create "triggers" or reminders that go off
when I click a box or select and item. like don't forget this or set a
reminder when something goes under contract that I need to set up inspections.
Does anyone know where I could get information or trinaing on this?

I am a real estate broker, not a tech guy. I've been using BCM for a
couple of years. It has many limitations one being no workflows,
which is what you are asking for. I've been able to tailor BCM in
many ways for real estate, but it has no workflows, is not great for
network use with many users to name a few. I really have tried to get
it to work, but am close to moving to another product. So far I am
finding Zoho CRM module is the top runner...still reviewing

Zoho is close to being nixed. I use BCM projects to handle escrows -
it is a great way to consolidate communication with several contacts,
Zoho does not have a project module as part of CRM. Yes, BCM does not
have workflows, but the manual tasks are sufficient at this point. I
have looked at MANY CRM products and the ones that do work are way too
expensive ($500-$2,500 user/year). Additionally, some of the products
(like MS Dynamics CRM) require customization by a professional at $250/
hour and Dynamics is very problematic. BCM serves my purpose well,
however my big issue is working remotely. Also, BCM tends to be a
memory hog, which in-turn causes data loss. If any one has any work-
around for the accessing BCM remotely (not offline) please fill me in.
