i'm using ready boost with a flash voyegar 8 gb and i do notice a difference.
Dell Inspiron 9300, 2 gb 100gb hd. vista ultimate (maxed configuration). I’m
a CS.net developer and a sql developer. I need power. Yes, I’ll get another
system, please hold that comment, it’s not necessary now.
1. If I have other usb devices, HD’s, mouse, or other slow thumb drives will
this slow down the cache?
2. If I have other files on the drive will this also cause a performance hit
3. Will other usb thumb drives?
4. In general what will give me the most performance?

Is the laptop maxed out at 2 gb? Upgrading the ram to 3gb or 4 gb would
improve performance more then readyboost IMHO. I can't say from personal
experience, but it makes sense that readyboost performance would degrade
somewhat if it must share bandwidth with other usb devices. Seems like it
would be pretty easy to test - why not just try it?
