How do I get Photo Gallery to read RAW image files?

According to this Raw Image support will be added once it is shipped as RTM.

While waiting, try Faststone Image Viewer. Runs on RC1 and read
RAWfiles real fast - and its free.

If you open Windows Photo Gallery in RC1 and RAW files (NEF in my
case) are found, a window displays indicating a download is
available that will allow you to view these files. The link is not
active yet, but it's definitely coming soon.
