Read only

I use Excel 2003 in Vista. When I update my timesheets and click to save, I
am told the file is "read only", even when there is apparently no read-only
setting checked. It is a real hassle having to save the file a "copy of ...."
Anyone had this problem? Any ideas?

Are you opening a template? If so open the xls file. Alternatively, has
someone else opened the file or is the file open on your PC in which case the
second is read only. Try clicking Windows, Unhide to view the workbook.
