read only

i have been using flopy disks at my job until it got sold. now the new computers don't have any drives they have these little boxes so i bought a laptop well the info on my disks are from windows 97 i get them on my lap top and then save them to the cd i get the following message for all the ones i have transfered: An error occurred applying attibutes to the file: xxxxxx/filename Access is denied i have attempted to change the read only through properties i have gone to the tools menu and clicked folder options on the view tab i clear clear the hide protected operating system files check box. that doesn't work can anyone help and you have to go step by step cause i'm not that savey thank you

Files on CDR are by definition read-only since they cannot be edited on
CDR. When copied to HD, the attributes can be changed.
