read-only when copying images to CD-RW

In Win 98 it was easy to copy images from my card reader
to a CD-RW disk. Just click and drag from within windows
explorer. In XP it saves to temporary place and then you
have to "write images to the CD" and it makes them "read-
only". How do I prevent it from making them read-only?
I want to be able to make changes to the images if need
be. It is a rewritable CD, I should be able to make
changes. I tried to go into properties and change the
read-only attribute, but it says "access denied" or won't
let me do it. Can anyone help me with this? Many thanks.

I see no one has answered you, so here's my take - move the picture over to
the hard drive, do you editing, then move it back to the CDRW.

If you want a rewriteable CD, then you need not only the correct CD-RW,
but also CD-writing software that supports the UDF format for writing a
CD-RW. Roxio CD Creator is one popular application for this.
Otherwise, the CD-RW is treated as an ordinary CD-R and the Read Only
flag is always set since a CD-R is, well, Read Only.
